Quote from the website:

"The GGNRA is asking for public participation to help create the framework that will guide Golden Gate's management for the next 20 years. It has been more than 25 years since the original general management plan (GMP) for Golden Gate was put in place.

We are reaching out for your help and input as we develop a new general management plan for Golden Gate for the next 20 years. Starting in April, the National Park Service (NPS) will host five open houses throughout the Bay Area. We want the public to share ideas, concerns, and thoughts about the plan. We look forward to creating our collective vision for these wonderful park lands."

Here is the planning process:

  1. Spring 2006: Scoping
  2. Spring 2006 to Spring 2007: Data and Resource Analysis
  3. Fall 2006 to Fall 2007: Develop and Present Preliminary Alternatives
  4. Fall 2007 to Spring 2009: Prepare and Distribute a Draft General Management Plan/Environmental Impact Statement
  5. Spring 2009 to Fall 2009: Revise Draft Plan and Prepare a Final General Management Plan/Environmental Impact Statement
  6. Winter 2010: Implement the Approved Plan
